I am happy how it turned out. The canvas is special. I applied my custom texture, that I make from plaster of Paris, marble dust and gel. It has tooth. Painting on it is heavenly. I'll share some detail close up next. I think my next bird girl will be standing under an eclipse. The canvas is already on my easel waiting impatiently.
This is an oil 20 x 20 inch of my famous subjects. The infamous Bird Girl has by now come alive. She has gone from being a mere statue that graced the cover of John Berendt's book "Midnight In The Garden of Good and Evil" to a girl holding bird seed bowls as if they are scales measuring good and evil. I am continuing to paint her in my own garden of good & evil and make her come alive.
