Oil painting of one of my favorite subjects. Savannah's famous Bird Girl. Made famous by the book "Midnight In The Garden Of Good and Evil" by John Berendt.
The statue made up the book cover. She was eventually moved out of Bonaventure Cemetery, where she stood for over 50 years in order to protect her from her sudden fame after the book became a bestseller and eventually a movie, directed by Clink Eastwood.
The original statue was made by Sylvia Shaw Judson.
